Hey, yall! What's cookin'? NOTHING, nothing is cookin' today because today, we are learning about a chef. Yeah, so the first blog of every month will be about a famous chef whose ways of cooking inspired me. And today's blog is about Reynold Poernomo, an Indonesian pastry chef who has been a household name since his first appearance in MasterChef season 7 known as 'The dessert guy' and reappearing in MasterChef Australia season 12. He was always this 👌 close to winning but remember this, a lion won't be fighting with dogs to prove his majesty. So, anyway, let me tell you about the guy. Born on the 4th of December, 1993 in Surabaya, Indonesia, Reynold moved to Australia at the naive age of 6, Imagine being just 6 and having to be uprooted from your life and move 3457 km away. Damn. He started cooking at an early age, He mentioned in his TED talk that his interest begun from cookbooks. He used to read cookbooks from chefs all around the world and recreate them with his modifications. As his interest grew, he started watching cooking shows too, Starting from Masterchef, after seeing all these cooks do magic with ingredients, he wanted to go there too. After a lot of auditions, he finally got a chance in 2015. He was not able to make it to the trophy but he dug a straight path in our hearts, since then, it has only been uphill for him, except for the little hiccup in 2020, where he lost the "Back to win" trophy to Emilia Jackson. He started dating Chelia Dinata in 2018 and they're still happily together!
